Gareth was one of the first people in the IAC to welcome me, take interest in my interests, and was always there to support me with my research - whether that was practical help, or emotional support when things got stressful. He was the funniest and kindest person who made me feel less alone. I'm extremely sad and gutted that he is gone, he was an asset to our world and will be sorely missed.
